A collection of websites that use web as artistic medium and reimagine the traditional web interaction

Websites could be crazy, dynamic and playful!

These experimental websites / browser extensions radically reshape our existing browsing experience by creating novel, playful and multi-modal web interactions. This collection is also technically challenging, exploring the creative use of different APIs, browser extensions and server-side programming (Node.js).

1. Face(s)

A website consisting of a dynamic human face

The website uses 6 pop-up windows to put together a human face. Drag the sliders to form different faces.

2. Gravity

A website that connects physical & digital world

The website allows users to physically tilt laptop to interact with digital numbers inside the screen. It uses Matter.js and PoseNet.

3. Hearing The Web

A chrome extension that creates an acoustic browsing experience

The browser extension blocks all the texts on web page - you can only hover the mouse to hear each word.

4. Mirror; Encrypted

A chrome extension that encrypts web page See it in a mirror!

This extension encrypts web pages by flipping all texts. Users need to see the content in a physical mirror.

5. Nice to SEE you

A website where multiple users find each other in the dark by hearing sound

Follow the volume & direction of sound for a poetic encounter. Built with Node.js and Socket.io. (Collaborated with Clover Li)
